Psychotherapy
transpersonal - psychodynamic - integrative approach

How can it help?

Psychotherapy draws out positive personal strengths and abilities and helps us rediscover our inherent wisdom and love for life

It challenges negative and self-limiting beliefs and encourages us to live our dreams

It helps people uncover and release old hurts and feelings, i.e. those who have suffered from neglect, physical, sexual and emotional abuse in childhood are helped to confront, transform and heal their pain.

Psychotherapy helps people work through depression, anxiety and difficult emotions

It helps people to heal through trauma and life-changing events such as marital crisis, divorce, illness and bereavement

When life brings us unexpected change or loss of direction, psychotherapy helps to re-discover meaning, life purpose and vision

As a holistic form of therapy, psychotherapy fortifies deeper emotional, psychological and spiritual intelligence, i.e. the understanding of why we are the way we are. This in turn is key towards greater self-acceptance and esteem, creativity and more successful relationships.

Many people resort to psychotherapy in their search to deepen their feelings of connectedness and a sense of belonging in a fragmented world.

Setting and contract

The setting of psychotherapy and counselling is on a one-to-one, once, sometimes twice weekly basis. After an initial session, both the client and patient decide whether they want to work together or not. If the answer is yes, a commitment up to further 6 sessions is made, after which there will be a review. At the review session there is the option to commit to an on-going therapeutic relationship. If the decision is made to discontinue, a referral to a suitable alternative could be made if required. If we agree to weekly consultations, the contract will be reviewed seasonally, however you could stop therapy at any time you wish. To finish such a relationship with care you would need to consider at least 1 to 3 finishing sessions, or even longer, depending on how long you have been in therapy.

We are bound by the code of ethics as laid out by the UK Council for Psychotherapy, which includes strict rules on confidentiality.
