Traditional Chinese Acupuncture

How can it help?

Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is an ancient and effective healing art that has been practiced in China over thousands of years. By treating the body, mind and spirit as an integrated whole it can help with a wide variety of complaints .(see below). Some people have Acupuncture as a preventative measure to strengthen their constitution and immune system, or because they feel ‘unwell' in themselves without being ‘ill' in the Western sense. In the hands of a skilled practitioner, Acupuncture can help increase motivation and boost your energy while relaxing your entire nervous system .

How it works

Acupuncture is energy medicine. Its method is through the insertion of very fine needles and moxibustion, (the burning of a herb) onto specific points, situated on the 14 main energy pathways. Thus by either strengthening, calming or unblocking energy (chi) the body's innate healing ability is restored and health regained. Effective treatment is dependent on accurate diagnosis which involves a variety of skills, including the taking of an extensive case history, the examination of the 12 pulses and tongue diagnosis. No two people are ever treated alike. Some common symptoms treated with acupuncture are:

Muscular/skeletal problems, arthritis,
Back ache, sport injuries
Headaches, migraine
Recurring colds, sinusitis, hayfever
Circulatory problems, heart symptoms
Digestive disorders
Respiratory problems
Menstrual problems, PMS, infertility
Effective pregnancy management
Post-natal complications and depression
Immune system strengthening
Anxiety, depression, panic attacks
